In 2022, the film " White Noise" of these events was filmed in this village, and even people from this city participated in the filming. The scene of the accident in this film looks like the place near the bridge, a few miles before the real accident.

Norfolk Southern has an alternative route to get from Cleveland to the Conway yard near Pittsburgh. It involves going from Alliance down to Wellsville, then all along the Ohio River. Much of the track is single track, much more hilly, and appears to be jointed rail. With so much of the track right on the Ohio River on lower-quality tracks, I doubt that a lot of traffic is being rerouted that way. My guess is that traffic has been offloaded to other railroads or take a different route like over the Wheeling and Lake Erie RR. Conway is a very large yard, but a lot of the cars could probably be routed away from Pittsburgh. With very few sidings on this alternate route, they are probably operating it in one direction, and using the East Palestine route in the opposite direction

What a mess! Take all that soil to a place where they burn it, which neutralizes it! Then haul the clean soil back on the return trip! Our city had an d coal oil plant on a site in our city! They dug dwn 35 ft to limestone rock bed! Then has they moved along the trucks eventually started hauling the clean soil back filling the hole dug and packing it dwn! It took a very long time and nothing as huge as this mess!

Leake Oil Company - I was looking at Google Earth and noticed a marker for Leake oil company at 1020 Taggart Street. That's right at the crash site. Initially, I thought it was just somebody playing games adding in fake information, but it turns out it was real. Google Earth has pictures of the fuel distributor / gas station including a sign with the name on it. I am pretty sure they are at 5:22 on the right side. They are still open for business.
